Anti-Bullying Week 2026 will run from Monday 16th to Friday 20th November with the aim of raising awareness of bullying by encouraging people to speak up about the issue. Schools, youth organisations and businesses are all urged to get involved.
Anti-Bullying Week is organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) and the theme for this year is ‘Break the Silence’.
Break the Silence
The intention of this year’s campaign is to get people to start conversations about bullying to help them deal with the barriers surrounding bullying issues.
There are many ways we can break the silence when it comes to bullying, including:
- Having and adhering to a robust anti-bullying policy, which outlines available support for bullying victims and details exactly who they can talk to.
- Making sure everyone is aware of anti-bullying guidelines and that privacy is central for anyone that wants to speak up — including bystanders as well as victims.
- Arranging group discussions where all can voice their worries or frustrations. This can help when developing anti-bullying policies.
- Reporting all incidences of bullying and cyberbullying that is witnessed.
- Confiding in someone close to you for support before approaching official personnel.
Bullying it is not an easy topic to talk about, especially for victims and even bystanders, Whether or not bullying is a problem in your school or organisation, it is extremely important to address, making sure awareness and prevention are prioritised.
